Good News! Our Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP) has now entered the Regulation 16 stage. The notice from Cotswold District Council (CDC) announcing this can be found below. This gives details of the consultation and explains how you can provide comments on the NDP, should you wish to.
CDC Notice for Reg 16 Consultation
Siddington Parish Council has been working for more than two years on its neighbourhood plan. Now the Plan has been submitted to Cotswold District Council (CDC). After submission, responsibility for taking the plan forward lies with the local planning authority (CDC).
Neighbourhood plans are formal planning documents prepared by Town and Parish Councils in consultation with their local community. They allow local people to shape the future of the areas in which they live, and they include policies for development and the use of land.
CDC are carrying out a consultation on the Siddington NDP from Thursday 16 July 2026 until midnight on Wednesday 26 August 2026. The consultation is also known as ‘Regulation16 Consultation’. CDC are inviting comments on the Plan or supporting documents.

Any person or organisation may comment on the Plan or supporting documents. To do this, please email: neighbourhood.planning@cotswold.gov.uk or write to: Mark Harrison, Neighbourhood Planning, Cotswold District Council, Trinity Road, Cirencester, GL7 1PX.
All comments must be received by CDC no later than midnight on Wednesday 26 August 2026. Comments will be published online, with personal and contact details redacted.
What happens next?
Once the consultation finishes, the Siddington NDP will undergo independent examination. The plan and representations received on the Siddington NDP will be forwarded to the appointed examiner.
Following the examination, the examiner will issue a report which could include recommended changes to the draft plan to meet a test known as ‘Basic Conditions’. If this part of the process is successful, the next stage would be to proceed to Referendum where parishioners get the opportunity to vote on whether to accept or reject the plan.
If the Siddington NDP is successful at Referendum, then the plan will form part of the local development plan and be taken into consideration by the Local Planning Authority and Planning Inspectors in the determination of planning applications and appeals in the Parish of Siddington.
